As expected, this blog has been penalized for selling text link ads, this is a gift you expect every year. In 2008, almost all my websites were deindexed for selling text links. In 2009, the page rank of most websites dropped to zero as a penalty. If you use Google Adsense, your account can be disabled at any time, without any valid reason. When you sell text link ads, this is the risk you take and you have to make provisions accordingly.
I often get offers for my better sites from individuals who want me to add a link to their website in exchange for an “informative article” . This is a “white hat ” technique to get links.
When I ask them if they will pay a small amount for adding their link, they usually refuse to, saying that a multi billion dollar company (whose owners are the some of the richest individuals on the planet, but scrimp on customer support) will ban/demote their sites from the SERPS if they find out. Google’s advertised motto may be “do no evil” , but the company will stoop to any level to destroy a possible competitor/ rival.
